Schlegel Golf
Course Design, in conjunction with Liberty Home Builders, is underway with the
design of a new golf facility in Lexington
Park, Maryland. Taking advantage of "BRAC" initiatives at the
nearby Patuxent River Naval Air Station, the mixed-use development looks to
provide housing alternatives, much needed office space, and neighborhood
amenities to its ideal location. All buildings
on the site will be designed to target high levels of Green Building Standards.
The golf facility is being designed to be an amenity to the
development and will be targeted for families, leagues, and general daily fee
play. The site will lend itself to a
core golf course that will be very efficient to build, helping to keep costs low for the
developer and future patrons. The use of
effluent water will allow added environmental soundness to the project as the
course will further filter this water, instead of sending it to the Chesapeake Bay.
When completed, Glazed Pine will meet the goals of being a place to
Live-Work-Play.
