Hammock Dunes Celebrates Opening of Links Course Practice Facility

Accompanied by attendance of the major equipment
manufacturers, the Hammock Dunes Club in Palm
Coast, Florida
celebrated the Grand Opening of its new Practice Facilities on November 14th,
2008. The expanded range and new
practice greens were designed by Schlegel
Golf Course Design and constructed by MacCurrach Golf Construction during the
summer months. Golf Course
Superintendent Steve Sorrell had the
new facility in great shape with the new TifEagle greens rolling to over 10" on
the stimpmeter.
The scope of work included construction of a new putting
green, a green surrounded by fairway on all sides for 360 degree practice from
up to 35 yards, a new green with three bunkers for sand practice and lob work,
and expansion of the existing practice tee to accommodate extra tee
locations. The addition of these new
amenities has been received with great fanfare as the Club is being challenged
to keep a steady supply of balls available for practice!
